The Ocean Beach Kiwanis Kite Festival is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. To honor the anniversary, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. In addition to the traditional free kite making for children, this year’s festival will include demonstrations of kite flying and kite stunts by kite professionals and dedicated amateurs; more carnival rides; more food options, and a brand new location. Hours are 9am to 4pm for the craft fair and carnival rides; 9am to 12 noon for kite making; 1pm for prize judging; and 1:30pm for awarding of prizes. Kite flying demonstrations will be intermittent during the late morning and/or early afternoon – depending on wind conditions.
