Archaeology as a Tool for Managing California's Natural Resources
Assistant SDSU professor Dr. Todd Braje will discuss archaeological research on the Channel Islands, where maritime peoples lived for at least 13,000 years, and where that research raises questions about the antiquity of human impacts on coastal fisheries, shifting ecological baselines, and the supposedly “natural” states that modern fisheries and ecosystem managers seek to sustain or restore. The program will be held outdoors. Please bring your own seating. 858-538-0935.
