Violinist Michael Dvoskin
Violinist Michael Dvoskin will perform in the community room, accompanied by pianist Irina Bessonova and performing works by Dvorak, Beethoven, Brahms, Sarasate, Prokofiev, Bartok, Rachmaninoff, and Tchaikovsky. The program will last 45 minutes.
Michael Dvoskin graduated from the Moscow State College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance in 2002. He also has a Master of Music degree in violin performance in 2007 from the Maimonid State Academy of Classical Art. He has performed with a number of radio and television orchestras and was a member of the Russian State Symphony Orchestra. He also toured with the orchestra in England, the Czech Republic, and Spain.
Michael also conducted chamber and symphony orchestras in Russia to include local orchestral ensembles in Moscow. Since coming to San Diego in 2007 he has maintained a private violin studio, performs regularly with his pianist wife, Katherine (Ekaterina) Petrosyan, and teaches violin at the Bishop's School.
Irina Bessonova was born in Russia and began studying music at age of four at the National Music School for Gifted Children. She graduated from Kiev State Conservatory with a Master of Arts degree in Piano, Ensemble Performance, Accompaniment, and Piano Pedagogy. She taught at the Gliere College of Music in Kiev for 15 years where she was also its leading accompanist. During this period she performed throughout Europe, Russia, and Ukraine.
In 2002 she moved to San Diego and has continued her career as a piano soloist, accompanist, and teacher. She is a member of the Music Teacher Association of California (MTAC) and prepares students regularly for certified MTAC competitions and events. She performs regularly in San Diego and Los Angeles.
