Mule Hill: Field Notes
Jeff Smith 11:23 a.m., May 17
First Monday at Noon concerts feature graduate students from the UCSD Department of Music. The free events are held on selected Mondays in the academic year. February's edition showcases a handful of UCSD's graduate percussionists contrasted against a solo flute interlude performed by DMA candidate Alice Teyssier.
From drum kit improvisation to a composition for automobile suspension and glass, this concert will feature improvisation drummer Krzysztof Golinski, flutist lice Teyssier performing Trevor Baca's 2007 composition "Sekka," Jonathan Hepfer using automobile suspension and glass to perform Pierluigi Billone's 2004 piece "Mani.De Leonardis," and improvisation from percussionist Kjell Nordeson.
