As part of a lecture series hosted by the SDSU chapter of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Joseph “Joe” Tanner, a former NASA astronaut, will be giving a lecture titled “The Challenge of ISS Assembly: How the largest space vehicle in history was built.”
Assembly of the International Space Station was a multi-year, multi-nation effort that demonstrated the value of sound systems engineering, high-fidelity testing, international cooperation and well-trained, talented flight crews.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will also feature a question and answer session.
