Film Forum: Off White Lies
Director Maya Kenig's juicy road movie is a vibrant study of turbulent kinships. Libby, a shy, sharp 13-year old returns to Israel to live with her estranged father, a homeless, well-intentioned sham. When war breaks out, they find shelter by posing as refugees until taken in by a wealthy family in Jerusalem. As the masquerade and deceptions wear thin, Libby unleashes her teenage fury at the lies permeating her life. (Hebrew with English subtitles.) 619-531-1539.
