Christmas Lessons & Carols
2728 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, 92101
Cost: Free
The St. Cecelia Girls’ Choir will sing A Ceremony of Carols, by Benjamin Britten, with harp. A Ceremony of Carols was first performed in 1942 and remains one of Britten’s most popular works to this day. This lovely musical service melds an exquisite selection of ancient carol texts with the use of the harp as the only accompanying instrument. Immediately following, the Cathedral Choir of Boys and Men announce the arrival of Christmas in word and song as they present their annual Festival of Lessons and Carols.
