San Diego Mixtape Society: I Love...Whatever the Last Decade Ends Up Being Called
For the fourth installment of the SDMS, and keeping in mind it's coming right in the middle of the holiday season, we wanted to make this a really simple get for everybody involved.
Once Y2K didn't happen until the end of 2009. That's it, that's the parameters.
Maybe you loved DFA & the shift towards electro filtered through burgeoning technology. Throw it in there.
All the one-hit wonders you'd thought would be around forever that just served you a Hot Dog on a stick? Do it.
Everybody you'd thought would be a one-hit wonder that now can buy & sell your family five times before lunch? Yup, them too.
No genres. (Unless you want to do a whole genre thing, in which case go nuckfuts.)
Just whatever you liked the most about the previous decade, condensed into a few earworms that should bring back some (mostly) fun memories.
Remember our Give/Get program, wherein everybody who brings physical media (CD, flash drive) will get one to take one home with them as well. If you only bring a Spotify link, we'll give you another one in kind.
So meet some fellow music geeks at one of the best locales in the county, and SDMS with us.*
