The 2012 Encinitas holiday festivities begin with tree lighting ceremony in Lumberyard courtyard (5pm). Parade replete with floats, marching bands, and children's groups celebrating surf culture and "enthusiasm for all things surfing and beach-related," travels south along South Coast Highway 101 from D Street to J Street (5:30pm). nbuck@encinitasca.gov or 760-633-2760.
