Background:

Thieves and Liars is a three-piece hard rock outfit whose debut album, When Dreams Become Reality, was released in 2006. The album is a rock opera-inspired concept album, most of which was recorded live in the studio using '60s- and '70s-era technology and techniques. Tracks were overdubbed with an organ, a boys' choir, and classical strings.

The band won Best Hard Rock at the September 2008 San Diego Music Awards.
