Background:

Tanya Rose first earned local notice in the 1960s, singing folk and country tunes at local events and venues. The Point Loma High graduate later joined the San Diego Bluegrass Society and the San Diego Folk Song Society, as well as forming her own folk ensemble, the Buffalo Chip Kickers.

On April 25, 2011, the popular singer passed away from pancreatic cancer at her home in La Mesa. She was 74.
