Background:

Sleepless Pacific was founded in late 2010 by students at Poway High School. As of 2012, the band includes James Bishop, Taylor Eldreth, Robin Morris, and Esteban Cervantes, who attends Rancho Bernardo High School.

They were finalists in the 2011-2012 SchoolJam USA band contest, sponsored by the National Association of Music Merchants. The winner gets $5,000, with finalists earning $1,000 each for their school band programs.
