The Shambles

Their song "Wouldn't You Like to Be A Bear?" will appear on the bear-themed 4-disc 40th Anniversary Box Set from German label Bear Family Records, alongside tracks from Ry Cooder, Chip Taylor, Swamp Dogg, the Fuzztones, and around 60 others.


Her new album, Picking Up the Pieces, is due in September, along with a memoir called Never Broken published by Random House Penguin.

The Black Heart Procession

Band Joe Plummer (who also drums for the Shins and Modest Mouse) has a new project called Built In Sun featuring Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession, Three Mile Pilot) on vocals and Richard Swift on bass, with a self-titled debut album due August 7.


Mark Hoppus, who recently scored the animated short I'm Scared, has revealed to Billboard that the band will be entering the studio in August to record a new album with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba in place of departed frontman Tom DeLonge.

Bassist Steve Rodriguez - who also played with Saint Shameless, Ziggy Shuffledust, and others - has reportedly passed away.

His band Red Dragon Cartel announced its fifth lead vocalist in the past four months, former Jones Street singer Shawn Crosby, who replaces Chas West (who was preceded by DJ Smith, Michael Beck, and Darren James Smith).


No Life For Me, a collaborative album featuring Nathan Williams and Dylan Baldi of Cloud Nothings recorded at Williams' home, is now available via Williams' own imprint, Ghost Ramp.

A.J. Croce

A 20th anniversary of his album That's Me in the Bar is being reissued in August by Compass Records, with an added bonus track.

Tom DeLonge

DeLonge and author Suzanne Young have teamed up for Poet Anderson …Of Nightmares, the first of a planned trilogy. The novel, due October 6, "explores an unknown world where dreams meet reality and the chasm between the two sometimes disappears," according to a release.

The Rosalyns

Amy Gore from the Gore Gore Girls will fly in from Detroit to play two high profile shows, at Tiki Oasis on August 16 (supporting Chocolate Watchband at the Crowne Plaza Hotel) and Burger A Go Go on September 5 at the Orange County Observatory.

Bill Ray

"After 26 years in San Diego, I'm relocating up to Seattle at the end of September," reports the prolific drummer.


Their 2006 album Oh! Gravity will be reissued August 4 on 180 gram vinyl via SRCVinyl, in editions limited to 1,000 copies on red vinyl and 500 copies on smoke white.
