Background:

Native San Diegan Rita Cantos Cartwright has spent over twenty years with the San Diego Opera Chorus, as well as frequently singing the national anthem before local sporting events. Her parents Earl and Irene Cantos were very involved with the local Starlight Musical Theatre.

62 years old in 2011, she is married to fellow musician Robert Cartwright, also a producer and recording engineer.
