Background:
Founded in late 2007 and featuring players from the Transit War and Irradio, the quartet known as Pretty Too Bad is fronted by Clayton Edward (Demasiado), aka Clayton Tryniszewski (vocals/guitar/piano). Having met in Ocean Beach, their debut album Balloons was released in 2011, after which drummer Charlie Erickson was replaced by Damon DeLaPaz (Fenix TX, 30 Foot Fall, Demasiado).
At the time, Clayton Edward was 26 years-old, working by day as a shop manager at Audio Design, a production services and music gear rental company near SDSU. "Being in a rock band," he says, "is like being in a family. If everybody doesn't contribute, it doesn't work."
By 2012, Edward announced he was putting Pretty Too Bad aside for a time, in order to concentrate on a new group called TONTO, an electronic/soul/punk trio with guitarist Brandon Like and Spencer Jaquay on drums.
