Background:
Nisha's album Further South features guest artists Bill Ray on drums (Ike Turner, the Wild Truth, Playground Slap), Peter Bolland on guitar (the Coyote Problem), with production by Sven Eric Seaholm.
According to Nisha, “This album was started in the fall of 2005. Everything went on hold when my dear mother Gloria was diagnosed with a rare incurable cancer. I traveled back and forth to Memphis trying to save her. She passed in five and a half months. I was devastated and just basically wrote songs and cried for a year. We were like sisters; she was only 65. A new song was added [to the album], 'Never Goin Back to Memphis.' The album will be dedicated to her memory and all of the encouragement and support she gave me.”
