Background:
Formed in 2005, Monsters of Rock calls itself a “multi-metal tribute act,” dedicated to performing the songs of metal bands that dominated the '70s, '80s, and '90s, such as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, the Scorpions, and Guns N' Roses. The band also covers groups who performed at Monsters of Rock festivals held during the golden era of metal. The band formed in March 2005 and has been playing a variety of area venues.
Members of the band have played alongside acts such as Quiet Riot, Motorhead, Ratt, and Lynch Mob. After leaving Monsters of Rock in May 2010, drummer Tom Hogue formed Boneyard with two members of Sanctuary, singer/bassist Jim Mills and guitarist Steve Cox.
