Background:
Angelica String Trio violinist Missy Lukin began playing the violin at the age of four. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University studying with Kathleen Winkler, followed by her Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, under the tutelage of William Preucil, Concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Lukin is a member of the Opera Pacific Orchestra in Orange County, California, and is a regular substitute with the San Diego Symphony. She has been performing with the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra since 2005, here in San Diego, California.
In addition, she plays regularly with the Starlight Orchestra in Balboa Park for its summer series. A career highlight includes performing in the Sony Pictures Studio Orchestra during the recording of the Something’s Got to Give soundtrack, starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton.
