Background:
Based in North Park, San Diego native Josh Watson, aka Dr. Awkward, specializes in nerdcore R&B and hip-hop. He released his Next Gen EP in early 2009, and then recorded the Subterranean EP, with less of a heavy synth sound and sporting a more underground feel. The latter EP remains unreleased.
Having shared bills with MC Frontalot, MC Lars, MC Chris, Zealous1, YTCracker, and MegaRan, a full-length, Unlimited, was released in 2010. The album fuses nerdy rhymes with next gen hip-hop and R&B.
