Background:
French horn player Douglas Hall has been with the San Diego Symphony for more than two decades, having joined the orchestra in 1988.
While attending the University of Arizona and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he studied under John Cryder, David Krehbiel, and Keith Johnson. His longtime collaborators in the Symphony French horn section include second horn Warren Gref, who joined the orchestra in 1979, and third horn Tricia Skye, who has played alongside the duo since 2000.
As of 2011, Hall is fourth horn for the orchestra, as well as serving as assistant personnel manager.
