Background:

Congress of the Cow was a seminal San Diego rock band. In the mid-to-late eighties, singer/guitarist Michael Steinman attended a private school on Mount Soledad called the La Jolla School, as well as UC High, where he formed the band Sub-Society at the age of 15. He also played with local band Inch.

Steinman, a former Live Wire bartender, passed away on December 30, 2010. He was better known as “Stimy” (a misappropriated Little Rascals nickname) through his subsequent bands Inch, Congress of the Cow, and Lakeside Orchestra.
