Del Mar fixture Bruce Warnock grew up in Chicago, before spending fifteen years as a public school music teacher in Illinois and Michigan, After he moved to San Diego to become a real estate broker, he spent a quarter century playing trumpet with the Coastal Communities Concert Band.

Warnock is known for his songs like “Dirty Dish Rag” and “Del March,” about the Hotel Del Coronado. 93 years-old in 2012, he rarely performs, due to suffering from a post-polio condition that makes it difficult to play.
