The other day, I was waiting for the Escondido library to open when I overheard two men talking. One of them said he lives in the apartment building where the young pregnant woman was shot a few weeks ago. Viridiana Rodriguez was murdered by her baby's father.

The guy went on to mention that people in his neighborhood are getting more hostile due to a lack of money. I have started to believe that too. A few weeks ago, I was walking my dog when the property manager for our mobile home park started to yell at a kid in his 20s. He said, "You get out of here now. Don't let me catch you around here again."

Later, a neighbor told me that he had stolen jewelry from his grandmother.

Another neighbor warned me that several mobile homes have been vandanlized. My friend told me to get a sign that says "Security provided by San Diego Humane Society." I think it's a good idea.

Tonight, Escondido police have released a composite sketch of an Hispanic man in his 20s that broke into an elderly woman's house yesterday in the 1900 block of Glenridge Road. He surprised her and when she tried to get away, he attacked her and injured her head and hands. She had to be taken to the hospital.

While walking the dog a couple of months ago, I heard a man and woman shouting and a child wailing in one of the homes. A few days later, the place was empty and now the home is being removed from the premises. I often wonder what happened to the family that lived there. Do they have relatives to stay with or are they on the street? Does the child have enough to eat?

While walking home from the store about a month ago, I heard a couple shouting at each other as they whizzed by in a car. Another car cut them off and they followed him at close range, honking all the way down West Valley Parkway.

I think people are in fact getting more hostile just as the guy at the library said. I agree with the economists who say we are heading for massive civil unrest.
