Weekend Debut Set for Mother Earth Tap House

I was packing my bags for Portland, Oregon, when suddenly my iPhone buzzed. An email had just come in from Daniel Love, owner and brewer at Vista’s Mother Earth Brew Co. notifying me that, after 90 days of heavy tenant improvements, they would be opening the Mother Earth Tap House (206 Main Street) this Saturday, June 23.

Love and company’s previous base of operations—which included their brewery, tasting room, and home brewing supply store—was housed in a business park suite off Thibodeau Road. Their new 4,000 square foot space is located in Old Town Vista and figures to bring increased life to the area, along with the homebrew shop, which they moved from Thibodeau to the suite next door (204 Main Street).

Mother Earth’s future plans include purchasing a 7-to-10 barrel brewhouse to install at the Tap House, and converting their old location to a production brewery and tasting room with limited hours.

Had I not been readying myself to visit another beer-soaked community, I’d have been depressed to miss this event. Even with plenty of craft suds in my future, I was pretty bummed, as this is an opening I’ve been anxiously awaiting for some time.

Fortunately, those who read my posts to keep up on the latest craft brew happenings in our fair county can take it in. I’ll just live vicariously through all of you if that’s alright. To that end, feel free to leave comments on this post if you make it out there.

The Mother Earth Tap House will be open from 12 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 6 p.m. on Sundays, and 12 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
