You sit right under the oncoming trolley. True! The old 422 is bursting through the wall right above you as you chomp into your omelet breakfast.

This is at Pacific Star, the eatery at 12th and Imperial transit center, right beside the tracks (1255 Imperial Avenue, Suite 100, 619-231-1888).

It's decorated in red and white checkers inside, with red Formica tables, a sunny patio out back, and Walter and Wasan, the husband and wife running the place at what looks a relaxed pace but is actually a tag team express.

I snuck in just in time for breakfast. The usual picks, and I go for the reliable 2-egg omelet with ham and cheese and sourdough bread ($4.69).

I take it and sit down under this old-fashioned green and black and cream-colored trolley car, the front of a real trolley car from way back anyway, crashing through the wall...

It's headed for "Union Depot." Really great idea for "art."

British voices on the TV. Soccer. Napoli Vs. Chelsea. Walter and Wasan are Chaldean. Like a lot of Chaldeans, they are soccer fans.

And goes so well with the medium coffee ($1.50, refills $1). The generous part is the toasted bread. But way better than just toasted. Could it be...grilled?

"It is," says Walter. "I grill it with butter. But don't blame me for the heart attack."
