ENSENADA, BC - Yesterday afternoon, the particular educational institution Colegio Pearson became the first school certified as bully-free, an accreditation that is granted by the Municipal Government through the program called "Hermano Mayor".
In the presence of municipal authorities, managers, teachers and students, the Coordinator of the Commission of Health and Social Welfare of the city, Dr. Alejandro González León, said that with this certification, the academic institution is distinguished as a school that shows that anything is possible. “The document can be read by many, however what really happens is that you give the municipality great satisfaction for efforts invested in the program", he said.
From the hands of Secretary of Municipal Social Development, managers of the school received the certificate that certifies them as a bully-free school, which has been eradicated in much of our country, from a fad to a real education and conduct problem.
Jessica Pirrón, Director of Primary, was thankful to receive this title. She said one of the relevant points in the vision of the institution is based on values, that thanks to the support of government authorities these tasks can be strengthened.
Marco Antonio Novelo Osuna, Municipal Social Development Secretary, mentioned that the aim is to work hard and coordinate social programs, in this case with schools, knowing that aggression and violence are difficult to combat. He said with the passage of time we have eradicated this problem at the national level, at the State level, and especially at the municipal level, so we have tried to work with the schools.
Meanwhile, the Director of Education and Culture, Vidal Espinoza Aguilar mentioned that as a result of the success of this program, there are plans to continue the work with local schools to implement systems against more school and domestic violence. "There is an appreciation by parents and continued cooperation to seek good behavior by their children. ENSENADA, BC - Within the framework of the world day of the Bastón Blanco (white cane), which is commemorated every October 15th, the Municipal Government, through the unit for attention to vulnerable groups, promotes actions to improve the quality of life of persons with visual disabilities.
Patricia Reyes Hernández, Coordinator of the unit of attention to vulnerable groups, said that since the beginning of the municipal administration there has been strong support of people with disabilities, making the town more inclusive. She stressed that various programs, have been initiated as the experiential workshop to help a blind crossing a road, delivery of canes and Braille courses; as well as delivery of special portfolios that indicate the denomination of banknotes, in order not to expose these people to a possible fraud.
Reyes Hernández said leaflets have been distributed so that any citizen with notions can help a blind person cross the street, since vehicular traffic represents a risk for persons with visual disabilities. The official said that the workshop will be held next Friday "Help a blind man", at the crossing of avenida Juarez and Miramar at 10 AM to 12 Noon, so urged citizens to join this project.
