Tourist Police Allegedly Take Bribe (Tijuana Press, 12/29/12 by Nora Leticia Garcia)

Tijuana, BC - In process of being removed from the Corporation, are former municipal agents Erasmo García López and Jesus Alberto Perez Montiel, two former policemen attached to the tourist section of the Municipal police, accused of taking a bribe of 3,000 pesos ($231 US).

On Friday, the chief of the Ministry of Public Security Municipal (SSPM), Jesús Alberto Capella Ibarra, issued a release stating the reasons for which the policemen were dismissed. The document claimed they extorted money from Joel Domínguez.

Pascual was found with supposed false United States identification. After arrested, both agents were referred to for prosecution of the common law T01/3582/2012, indicated the SSPM report.

According to the complainant, Domínguez Pascual, went to submit the complaint at approximately 1 p.m. on December 28. He told authorities, he was walking in the company of David Ramírez Romero and Antonio Díaz Jacome, on calle Primera and Negrete when they were addressed by the defendants.

The official report said that during a precautionary review they found the complainant’s false identification. While before the municipal judge, Dominguez Pascual said he offered the agents 3,000 pesos in exchange for his freedom. He stated that Perez Montiel and García López after accepting the deal, brought him to a nearby alley where he was released, however his alleged false identification was not returned.

The report of the authorities indicated that the chief of the Corporation, upon learning of the facts ordered the arrest of the uniformed officers, for initiating the illegal act. http://www.tijuanapress.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8533:dan-de-baja-a-policias-de-la-turistica
