A SOMBER DAY

Have you ever had advice from someone that turned out to be a mess? I was told that I should have a registry cleaner (for my computer). I even got the name of one from this same person. RegTool was the recommendation.

So I went to the RegTool website. Of course it was all about how wonderful they are and how easy to download. I even did a free scan which showed my computer had lots of issues and RegTool could fix it. I bought it. After the full scan and fixing the problems, I assumed (!!) all was well. I tried to get to a game where I play a competetion and the game could not be found. So, I checked All Programs and discovered that over 20 games had been deleted along with a few other programs. I was quite angry. Back to the RegTool website, I filled out their customer service form advising of the problems.

I then got the support address and sent an email. This all took place on 10/31 & 11/01. To date, I have had no response from RegTool. I had put my credit card company on notice, also. Today, I will post on Facebook as a message to all to avoid this product.

Yesterday was another one of those days when you shake your head and wonder how someone's mind reaches the point of no return, taking guns into a medical building on a United States Army Base and just start shooting. Over 40 people were shot, 13 died. One of the culprit's fellow Army men told reporters that the culprit (a trained psychologist who counseled those returning from war) had been unhappy about his potential deployment overseas. He also said the culprit told many that Muslims should not be killing Muslims. The culprit was a Muslim, a colonel in the Army, a US citizen, born in this country. It is a tragedy and Fort Hood personnel seemed to do their best under unforseen and terrible circumstances. It was a cooperative effort by the Army and the local police. The culprit was first reported as DOA. Later, at the first press conference, it was learned that he is alive and will recover from his wounds. No matter what he says, this act of extreme violence is inexcusable.

This is a rather somber blog today. It goes well with the current San Diego weather, gloomy. I do like the fact that it is cool, which is about the best we can do for autumn! I heard someone on a news broadcast saying he could never live here. He loved & needed the change in seasons. I thought that was great and he should convince others.

My continuing saga of the homeless 'camp' across the street. I was awakened twice last night by the sound of loud voices and breaking glass. I went out on the patio, but I did not see any broken glass. Of course this was in the dark of night.
