Rain, rain, beautiful rain. Yesterday morning I put on boots & raincoat, grabbed my umbrella and headed out into the chilly morning. It was actually rather enjoyable. I am hoping the weather forecasters are right in predicting a wet rainy season. We need it.
On the way home, I listened to a woman complaining loudly about the weather. Not me, I liked it.
In fact, I like the cooler weather, as long as it doesn't dip below 50! One of my sayings: I am spoiled but, I want the temperature to stay above 60 and below 80. That is one reason for loving living in San Diego. Forecast: late night and early morning low clouds (occasional fog), with the marine layer burning off, giving way to a mostly sunny day.
During baseball season, San Diego is one of the very few cities that does not worry about a rain out. Many baseball parks now have domes. We don't need one. I do recall an early season rainout a few years ago. The make-up game was scheduled for a Saturday. It was not a double header, but 2 separate games, one around noon and the 2nd one at the regular starting time of 7:05 pm. That left us a little time to shop, eat, nap, etc. I wouldn't mind if they had such a day every year.
The Chargers seem to be following in the footsteps of the 2008 Padres. They cannot seem to get it together. At least they did not lose this week!!!
I am hoping the Tennessee Titans continue their winning ways. A surprisingly good team, like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Jeff Fisher (coach) must be doing a lot of things right. Whereas our Chargers have not. A new defensive coordinator may help. This week the Chargers play a division rival, Kansas City. With a record of 3-5, the fellas need a victory!
This time of the morning is lovely. A little chilly, sun just coming up, the marine layer blanketing the sky. San Diego is still a great place to live, even with a few problems. At breakfast, Mom used to say, "problems, problems go away and help us make it through today". It always sounded good to me.
The cooler weather also gives us a chance to wear those turtleneck tops, sweaters, jackets, boots, and scarves, those wonderful knitted accessories, a chic look and a nice warm feeling. A small part of the wardrobe, hanging in the back of the closet, waiting for its chance to be useful!
This is also a good time for baking. Get the oven going, bake some bread, cakes, cookies. Reminds me to get to Costco soon to get my holiday baking supplies.
