Traffic Cop Questioned in Encinitas
I live very close to where this incident happened, and it is not "the best vantage point nor safest location to catch speeders". Best location for the officer, being that it's close not only to the sheriff's station just a stones throw away, but a doughnut shop to boot! With the Encinitas City Council recently approving a very questionable under-funded financing 'scheme' for the Hall sports/dog/skate park and improvements for Moonlight beach, seems to me the officer spoke volumes when he said he was "making money for the City of Encinitas". That's the reality.— July 19, 2012 2:26 p.m.

Thanks, laydee... never thought of that - usually use our mattresses for, *ahem*, other things. ;)— April 27, 2012 9:13 p.m.

I meant to send this to you when your story came out, but have been having too many 'blonde moments'. Just wanted to say, "I feel your pain/know what choo mean", etc. - my hunkahunka is not only an "I can do that myself/cheaper" kinda dood, but also *ack!* a mechanical ENGINEER!!! See attached photo of when he decided to hang this humungoid (over 6-foot tall) poster all by his lonesome (I had to leave the house and go to the '99-Cents Only Store' to keep myself calm). And that's just ONE of his antics! ;) http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/apr/2…— April 25, 2012 4:33 p.m.
Not Panicking, But Pannikin! Say It’s Not So!
So, so, SO sad. The Pannikin was the first ever coffee shop (that didn't double as a breakfast/lunch place) around SD county. We loved the one in Old Town, and now will continue to patronize the cozy Pannikin in the old Encinitas train station on Highway 101 in Leucadia. Best of luck to you Verena and Vivienne (and, I like the name 'Caroline's'). Cheers.— September 29, 2011 6:57 p.m.
