Declining to take public questions, tax-backed tourism board votes to sue Filner
Who are these PR firms involved with this huge contract? Is it Mitrovitch again? I always wondered about these big PR contracts like the $1,000,000 contract to change the name of the San Diego Bay to "The Big Bay". Some PR firms are making huge money from the city and I am glad the new mayor is looking into it.— February 22, 2013 4:39 p.m.
You will get hoodwinked on San Diego stadium costs
The Dallas Cowboys who moved to Arlington and built a billion dollar stadium. Then they sold seat "licenses" for $10,000 each. The license entitles the owner to buy tickets to his own seat and the seat cost is over $100 per seat. The city paid for the stadium (mostly) and after 30 years ownership goes over to the Cowboys. That is the deal the Chargers want. They will tell you anything to get you to vote for a stadium but then you will not be able to afford the license fee and ticket cost. I like the Dodgers model. they own the land, the stadium, the parking lot and the concessions. The Dodgers still make lots of money, it is possible to actually have a capitalist business paid by capitalists.— December 21, 2012 8:45 p.m.
ResMed: Please refuse to play the subsidy game
So how many of the corporations are a part of the 47% that pay no taxes but receive government hand outs? You know why companies want to move to Texas, low wages for the workers. The payroll does not go down by one penny, instead the payroll savings get gobbled up by the CEO's. Well I hope you like Texas where it is over 100 degrees five months a year. You won't find many parks in Texas or oceans. But if you like air conditioning it will be a great place for Resmed.— December 21, 2012 8:26 p.m.
Will Work for Food
It's a life style not a job. I asked my friend who had been homeless for more than 20 years. He lived on the streets, he begged money to get drugs and booze to help him over come the feelings of begging and becoming non-existent. So I asked my friend what should I do, give the beggars the money or give the money to the homeless shelter? He said give to the shelter. Those guys really do need help but as long as they are squeaking by they will continue to live on the streets. Many of them have mental issues and need to get medical attention but if they can get the booze instead, that will work for them better and faster. So the next time you see a sign man, encourage him to get help at the shelter, I am not affiliated with any program or shelter, just saying.— November 17, 2012 4:24 p.m.
The Neighbor
Yes Andrea, it is a plot to keep you from sleep. They are planning to keep you awake for years at a time and then when your eyes will no longer stay open, they will come. The garage monsters are waiting. They are cunning, patient and hungry. On that day when your eyes will no longer stay open they will scan your brain and remove the vestiges of what little is left. Then they will make a box three feet wide and six feet two inches long. You will not have noticed the slide that was assembled during your last vacation, but on that day, when your eyes will not stay open, they will slide your willing body down to the garage and into the spooky box. There will be one flashlight, one bottle of wine and one joint. That is what the plan for you is to be. Now rest assured that this will not happen today and may not even happen next week. But soon and for sure. Try not to listen to the hammer as it makes your fate certain. But if you need help contact me, Geno, for I know the path to Robertos.— November 15, 2012 8:50 p.m.

Just why did we not purchase generators made in the USA? (see article attached). Steam generators en route to San Onofre nuclear power plant...The first two mushroom-shaped generators, each 65 feet long, arrived at the Port of Long Beach from Kobe, Japan.— February 4, 2009 5:04 p.m.
Jeff Moorad, Former Players' Agent, Says He Has Reached Agreement in Principle to Purchase Padres
Response to post #16 You are correct, the Chargers will ask for a new improved stadium and then the taxpayers will find out what happened in Arlington, the new Cowboy stadium. The Cowboys demand a "license" fee of $10,000 just to buy a seat. Now how many normal taxpayers are going to come up with ten grand for the right to buy a seat and then to purchase tickets? The Cowboys even paid for 1/2 of their stadium, the city came up with the rest of the money. Gene— January 4, 2009 2:32 p.m.
Jeff Moorad, Former Players' Agent, Says He Has Reached Agreement in Principle to Purchase Padres
The Chargers are now worth nearly 1 billion dollars. Let them buy their own stadium if they like. Arlington just paid 1.4 billion for their new stadium and if the taxpayers want to buy tickets to the game they first must buy a license for the right to buy tickets. The license costs $10,000 for each seat and then you can buy a ticket. I am all for sports but this is no longer a game of the middle class so why should the middle class support the team? How about we get our priorities in order. That means what is more important - football or schools - football or hospitals - football or fire services. Get real before we give away another zillion dollars we can't afford. Thanks for letting me rant. Gene— January 3, 2009 10:01 p.m.
