Teen Driver with Young Students Crashes into Fire Hydrant in Imperial Beach
Just another reason to close that back gate. Not only anyone can come on campus but that area is uncontroled & not set up for student pick up. Everyone should enter & exit by the front of a elementry school.— June 19, 2011 1:43 a.m.
Water, Water Everywhere
Let's show this landlord something positive can happen in Imperial Beach. Hold him responsible for everthing we can find about this rental property.— August 31, 2009 3:06 p.m.
I.B. Politics as Usual
Does this mean that in Imperial Beach if you don't know of the of a law than you can't be held responsible? They have a City Attorney who did advise them on this matter before they proceeded. As for th District Attorneys office they need to be brought to task on this matter (it is their job to protect the public & I think 24,000 citizens is the public). This counsel is now on record as of a March meeting that their plans were to use a consulting firm to collect information from a select group of citizen & then take that information, manipulate it to sell their plan to the citizen of Imperial Beach. When confronted they back peddled & decided not to proceed at that time.— August 11, 2009 7:23 p.m.
Down the Tubes
Mayor Jim Janney said where was everybody for the budget meetings? Well may be we need to go to these budget meeting to find out how a cash strapped city can afford $11,000,000.00 to get into the real estate business, $290,000.00 to hire a consulting firm for this project & how do we find out how many other places they are just throwing money in the air. Unfortunately in Imperial Beach their sand Lobbyist is more important than it's citizens. Our government is the "erosion factor"— July 30, 2009 7:04 p.m.
Democracy Inaction
How many people want a Lobbyist for sand, for the city to own a city block for redevelopment, over loaded city management (please do not hire a replacement for the Assistant City Manager), & who picked our legal counsel. We have an ex mayor trying to change building codes to his advantage (change us to Pacific Beach thanks but no thanks Mr. Bixler). I like Ex-Mayor Rose but I think we need to have a say so in this matter. The rush in this matter is a disgrace to the late Councilman Fred McLean & the way he would have wanted it handled. As small as our city government is why do we the citizens have so little say, & special intrests run things. Lets clean house & show that this city can be run respondsibly. New City Manager, new Attorny, new qualified public works management, open all city finances to the public so we can have a say in what this city needs & does not need.— July 6, 2009 3:22 p.m.

Hauling Butt
With all the school kids that cross at this intersection it is a surprise we have not had a child killed here. There has been at least six major accident in the past year, multiple hit & runs, Several DUI related accidents. What I see the most is people going across 13th without stopping & the speed on holly & 13th.— June 18, 2009 6:56 p.m.
