Biking down the hill behind Air & Space Museum this morning; loud bang! My tire blew out big time. Called my bike guru Mike; sent me to Ye Old Bicycle Shoppe on Univ near College. Jennifer was great and now I have Gatorskin tires and puncture resistant tubes. Amazing service and prices. Now it's back to Balboa Park on my Hummer tires.— June 22, 2013 2:06 p.m.
Young Men Cause Aggravation at Mission Valley YMCA
The homeowners have our complete support. If they start a fund we are ready to contribute to enforcing laws against excessive noise--a benefit for all of us. It is clear that there is nothing Christian about the y's underhanded expansion and malicious disregard for the right to a quiet home life.— October 8, 2010 8:27 a.m.
Rancho Peñasquitos man fights with city over concrete spill
Dana, thanks for a well written and fact filled report. In a just world you will get compensation for the abuse of power by petty civil agents and if I were an attorney I'd be at your door to help. You may be reforming a bit of the system for all of us.— September 3, 2009 2:56 p.m.
Forsaking Friendships
Right on Barb. And lets not forget the co-factor. Holding on to fake friends enables them to continue their bad behavior. They'd be so fortunate to be presented with why they are no longer real friends. I rarely have the guts to do this....— January 23, 2009 12:59 p.m.
Party Poopers
Lets assume that pack of seven managed to get to adulthood without somehow learning manners. It is any favor to them to act as though there was nothing wrong with their behavior? Thereby teaching them that "all is well" so just continue as you are.— November 22, 2008 9:35 a.m.
Poodle Peepers
Great story. I've always liked the poodle character but the hairstyle was off the wall. With all the poodle owners I know I can't believe it took this long to learn the logical reasons for the cartoon look. The remaining question: these dogs are not used for hunting anymore--why keep the ridiculous 'do'? (I think they look great in their natural coat.)— September 21, 2008 10:15 a.m.
Psycho Analysis
Barb, another delicious column. Your therapist sounds like the Greek philosopher Epictetus: "People are not disturbed by things, but by the view they take of them."— March 22, 2008 2:30 p.m.
