Live Interview with the Cardiff Kook
Well, I don't remember the interview? Maybe I had to much salt water in my head..... Anyhow I think most people can dig it and have fun with it dressing it up. So many religious and political and just darn crazy costumes have been on there it is just a place to be and takes photos, go shopping and visit the restaurants in town across the street. Rob Machado is great guy whom we respect but I also have heard Cardiff locals at Seaside Reef call him a kook too, so no hard feelings, we all get the hate when your admired by so many! Robby and I are tight! Who do you think told him to grow his hair out to do that modeling shoot at Swami's Cafe! But going back to the article I would say I need a wave built around me so I'll be getting shacked! Funny article! Come visit my website www.TheCardiffKook.info it has free surf reports, traffic reports, live beach cams, music, surf flicks, articles on local artist and more!— February 7, 2012 2:52 p.m.

@NeonRon Instead of bickering on here with me you might actually enjoy the website if you drive, surf, like music, art, skating. And having 2 different opinions from the same town and the ability to express ourselves freely is gold in my book and that is what makes me proud to be an American. Even though we have our differences I see many similarites or however you spell it...hahaha! We both are obviously are very passionate of how we feel about our views. We both are proactive and share ideas with the world. So at the end of the day.... we are all not that different, it is what is in our hearts and soul that makes us unique and defines us all. I hope you can check the site out, and you too my friend have a beautiful day. Cheers! The Cardiff Kook www.TheCardiffKook.info— January 31, 2012 10:07 p.m.

@NeonRon Obviously you are not from San Diego County. So here is a refresher, I even had to make an Avatar on here so you can see what, "The Cardiff Kook" is, it is a statue in Cardiff that looks is depicted as a kook the way he standing on his board. Many around town dress him up to make all kinds of political, religious, or just darn funny statements with the many outrageous costumes. The community of Cardiff and surrounding cities now embrace it as kind of a staple to the community. A must see in Cardiff as the Kooks Cafe is across the street as well as many other really cool shops and boutiques and restaurants. Basically a hometown feel tourasit trap and photo area as the statue is oh Old Highway 101. And we dig it... you pickin up what I'm puttin down. The Cardiff Kook— January 31, 2012 9:26 p.m.

@ NeonRon - That is funny, reading your email which is very different than your post here. We do not appreciate the threats and cuss words directed to our website! We value your opiion and we always like to write about local stuff that steers up controversy! That being said please leave comments, we encourage all to leave comments as everyone has an opinion but please do not disrespect, use profanity or racism. Like NeonRon any use of threats, profanity, racisim will be reported to authorites. And P.S. NeonRon - the only time I have my socks pulled up and my locs on is when San Diegans dress me up! (I'm a statue in Cardiff if you don't know) And personally speaking we are in DAGO, aint nothin wrong with locs and pulled up socks, I do have a pair of SPY Optics that are pretty loc-d out! I think many do and SPY Optic corporate office is in Carlsbad! Whites, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, were all loc-d out & it does not matter if you have been laid off and you Occupy Wall Street or if you have a 6 digit salary & work at Qualcomm. We all live in this beautiful town San Diego which we all call home. Respect it. And much respect to the people who call Dago home. And for those who want to learn more about the word "Dago" Most will find in Wikipedia that Dago, a nickname for San Diego (major city located in Southern California) used by local residents The Cardiff Kook— January 29, 2012 12:04 p.m.

This comment is on behalf of real native San Diegans that felt a disrespect from Chad Deal for his cover story this January 2012 on Gonjasufi. There is much talk in Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, San Diego, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Poway all over about this Chad Deal and his MISPELLING of "DAGO" it should never ever be spelled DAYGO as chad had mispelled. It's a "Dago" thing goes back in the day. We are surfers, skaters, snowboarders, Motocross, San Diego Chargers & Padres Fan! We understand a long term transplant from out of town needs to work here and such. But if you are going to try and hang with the natives please understand that by calling Dago - Daygo you just disrespected alot of people and we are want an apology! There are several different blogs in San Diego that are speaking on Chad Deal and his mispelling!— January 22, 2012 9:26 a.m.
