Markos Tegui, born in Puerto Rico one Feb. Night 1984. Came to San Diego at 4 years old. Started break dancing at 6 years old, and fell in Love with the Hip Hop culture from there. In Middle School he began to freestyle, in the back of the #5 Bus, and beat boxing for others to rap as well. Prolific at spontaneous creativity, by 1998 he began writing songs, poems, making beats, and home recording. Joined the Circle Empire under the Alias "Shinobi" than to change it to "Decimal" and really stepped up his skills. By 18-24
years old he was performing live all over San Diego, colleges, bars, night clubs, house parties, and concert venues. Released "1 mic and 2 Speakers" produced by Big Ron in 2006. (will re-release soon)
Overcoming Gang Activities. Taking care of his disabled and mentally ill Brother. Losing best friends to drugs, prison,and murder. He fell off into addiction himself, and Alcoholism while touring and playing shows.
In 2008, he gave up his bad addiction. After losing another Best Friend and Circle Empire member Miguel Leon. Help put together the "Before and After" Circle Empire LP, 2010. He signed with Big Noise 2012, and changed his name to "Markos Tegui" a more personal alias, "Tegui" after his Grandmother who passed earlier that year. Released "Time Traveler" EP. which was a few new songs, and a collection of prior recordings. Currently he is finishing up a new Album, making videos, graphic design, producing, ghost writing and preparing for his next venture into the music world.
