LIFE Presents: Muslim Minorities in Western Democracies
Demographic change has created a state of flux in Western liberal democracies. The continuous waves of immigration have called into question the role of religion in democracy and proper status of religious minorities in society, especially in regards to a country’s Muslim groups. This change has led to significant policy discussion where relevant questions have been posed.
What should the role of the state be in incorporating religious minorities? How does the current climate affect relations between groups within society? Dino Bozonelos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Victor Valley College, will examine these and other questions in-depth during this seminar.
