New City Sinfonia
1945 Illion Street, San Diego, 92110
Cost: Free
The 40-member New City Sinfonia will perform a musical overview of different epochs. The ancient world is represented by Hans Zimmer’s Suite from the film “Gladiator” and the Bacchanale from “Samson and Delilah,” by Camille Saint-Saëns, the Enlightenment by Mozarts’ Kyrie in D Minor and lovely Ave Verum, the late Romantic era by the captivating but rarely heard Symphony No. 1, by Vasily Kalinnikov, and the turn of this century by Richard Meyer’s Millennium. A freewill offering will be accepted at the door.
