Argentinean Wine Dinner
Tijuana’s most acclaimed chef, Miguel Ángel Guerrero, joins Chef Martin Gonzalez for four-course, wine-paired dinner where the only similarity is the wine. Each chef will prepare a dish true to their culinary style to accompany the four Argentinean wines served that evening.
As diners try each chef’s food pairing, served side-by-side, they will taste how each cuisine, Baja Med vs. Italian, brings out a different aspect of the same wine.
About Chef Angel Guerrero
Chef Miguel Ángel Guerrero is credited with launching the Baja Med cuisine, a movement that put Baja California on the international culinary map. He is executive chef and owner of several renowned restaurants in that state: La Querencia and El Taller in Tijuana, La Querencia Campestre in Rosarito Beach and Almazara in Valle de Guadalupe.
The Tijuana native is an avid hunter, fisherman and diver. The ingredients that nature provides in the region and its coastal areas inspire his creations. Baja Med cuisine is a fusion of local ingredients, Mediterranean techniques and Asian influences.
Guerrero has received several awards, including Tourism Merit Award 2009 presented by the Tourism and Convention Committee of the City of Tijuana.
Several publications have written about Guerrero and the Baja Med cuisine, among them La Buena Mesa, The New York Times and the magazine Sabor y Arte. He’s also appeared on TV in the show “Detalles” of CNN en Español and with chef Rick Bayless on “One Plate at a Time.”
