P.J. Otaku first picked up the ukulele while vacationing in Hawaii. He soon bought one of his own and started writing songs with it. He started with covers songs by artists he admired and some that he didn't.

In early 2007, the song "Joss Whedon (Is My Master Now)" became a worldwide Internet hit with geeks and sci-fi enthusiasts, due to a burgeoning online fan base. He received ecstatic letters from fans, as
well as death threats. This renewed interest prompted him to write and record a new CD, Keep on Rockin'.

P.J. unexpectedly relocated to San Diego in March 2007 when his wife received a promotion with her employer. He played his first solo shows in California during the summer of 2007 and began writing material for another album.

His song "Number Six" is a tribute to the Battlestar Galactica TV series and became popular with fans of that show. The song "We Could Be Heroes" is a tribute to the Heroes TV series and brought him to the attention of that show's official fan club. They liked the song so much, it prompted them to include copies of his album Ukes Not Nukes in their promotional giveaway for the new season.

Around that same time, P.J. was asked to provide a theme song for the new original web series Fans, which is the misadventures of a dynamic duo of comic book artists. He wrote and recorded the theme song "Fanbase of Operations," which has since become popular with the aforementioned geeks and sci-fi enthusiasts.

He continues to sing, play, compose, and perform whenever the mood strikes. He currently performs with local bands the Shake Ups and the Madeira. You can remember P.J. from other bands as Mr. Muggles, Hipster Zero, Destination: Earth!, 7.Zark.7, Film at Eleven, In Stitches, Mind Rift?, Larry & Rita's Boy, and Happy & Plaid.
