Formed in 2006, Paper Plane Pilot is the electronic pop alter-ego of Dustin Frelich, a man with a heavy interest in computer-based music production and synthesis. Sharing music created in his personal studio, Paper Plane Pilot combines catchy melodies with introspective songwriting, for a new twist on '80s electronic music.

The project's debut album First Flight was released in October 2008 and represents the end of a musical journey spanning nearly three years. They released Frozen in June 2010.

A new song, “As You Let Me Go,” was made available in 2011 as a free download on their website, their first release after almost a year of inactivity. Another new tune dropped in February 2012, “It’s All Ending” featuring guest vocalist Bryarly Bishop.

According to Frelich, “The song was written in the later part of 2011 and actually started life as a vocal and guitar-only track, gradually building upon itself for a few months into its current state. Emotionally, this song’s complexity belies its lyrical simplicity.”

That song was followed in summer 2012 by another single, “Lost and Leaving.” Early the next year, a new single, “This Is the Only Ending,” became available online for streaming or download. Next came another single, “An Awakening,” as well as two new videos, “A Sense” and “Faith.”

Frelich's musical project Cerulean Veins released its debut single “Black and White” in Autumn 2013. Shortly before the end of the year, he released Anthology, containing 27 Paper Plane Pilot songs, including all the tracks from First Flight (released October, 2008) through An Awakening (June, 2013).
